Consistent with our focus on investing in under-resourced communities across the country, we have continued expanding capital, advisory services, and other startup resources in Delaware. Small businesses make up 98.7% of all businesses in the state, and employ 50.6% of the state’s workforce. Growth and innovation are thriving in the state, and Bronze Valley is playing a small part in building that future.
We began operations in the state in early 2023 to meet the needs of emerging startups and innovators. Since then, we have:
- Completed three cohorts of our pre-seed investment accelerator—benefiting 15 companies
- Supported three cohorts of our university innovation program, reaching more than 700 students across Delaware State University and university campuses regionally
- Secured funding from the Delaware Community Investment Venture Fund, fueling our support for companies located in low-to-moderate income census tracts
- Added three Entrepreneurs-in-Residence (EIRs), additional service providers to the C-Suite Advisory service in Bronze Valley VentureLab (BVVL), our post-investment service platform
- Invested directly into three Delaware-based startups
- Launched our inaugural Bronze Valley Investment Accelerator in Delaware, investing $500k across five startups to continue driving innovation and opportunity across the state
